BeforeTheBridge
A downloadable game for Windows
Submission for One Shot Showdown GameJam :
In this game, you will have only one choice, follow the procedure or not. The main action is to push the only button in the scene. Any actions leading to a procedure failing will cause a permadeath and breaks the game. You have then for each iterations only one chance to continue, but you still have the choice to stop the loop with its consequences.
Controls
WASD -> Move
Left Clic -> Interact
Backspace -> Repair the game if broken (Only use for demonstration, not intended to be in standard experience)
🟠 ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE
You wake up mid-fall.
You land.
You're blocked by a glowing red gate. Strange messages are written on the wall.
Behind the glass, a golden silhouette walks across a descending bridge.
You observe them reach a control room… and then walk away.
Moments later, your door opens. It’s your turn now.
Will you follow the cycle, or will you break it?
🌀 WHAT IS THIS?
A short, atmospheric narrative loop experience.
Minimal interaction.
No tutorial. No reset. No retry.
Just one choice to make:
Comply—and become part of something larger.
Or break it—and pay the price.
